The Pau Basque club, Lagunt eta Maita, will be the site of the meeting of Basque clubs in France that will be attended by the clubs in Bordeaux, Paris, and Lagunt eta Maita. The event will also be attended by Asier Vallejo, Director of the Basque Community Abroad for the Basque Government.
Pau, France. Basque clubs in France will gather tomorrow in Pau, with the Lagunt eta Maita club hosting. The event will be attended by Basque clubs in Paris and Bordeaux, besides the local Pau one.
Asier Vallejo, Director for the Basque Community Abroad of the Basque Government will also be in attendance with technician Manu Meaurio. The event will discuss topics of interest for these clubs like grants and Basque club aid. As club president, Pantxoa Challet told EuskalKultura.com, attending clubs will also share common experiences and activities that they carry out annually, to learn from each other, as well as to support each other.
The Lagunt eta Maita Basque club in Pau is one of the largest in France with nearly 600 families among its membership. Three years ago, they inaugurated their clubhouse where a number of activities are held like Basque classes, Basque dance, social and cultural get-togethers, among others.
