As every year, Basque clubs in Argentina expressed their commitment to the Basque Country through Aberri Eguna celebrations. Clubs in Argentina joined in the festivities that took place throughout the Diaspora with events organized inside and out, open to the public. Here are some photos that we have received since the beginning of the month.
Buenos Aires, Argentina. Aberri Eguna, the Day of the Basque Homeland was celebrated in the Basque Country on April 5, Easter Sunday, but in the majority of Basque clubs in Argentina the celebration was postponed to avoid conflicting with the Easter holiday. This is why get-togethers and commemorations take place during the entire month of April, all in the same spirit, to “support the meaning of Aberri Eguna and stress the commitment of the clubs to the Basque homeland.”
This is just a small selection of Aberri Eguna celebrations that took place in Argentina, but it serves as a panoramic view of all the Aberri Eguna activities that were carried out from the top to the bottom of the country. These photos are from Arrecifes, Bariloche, Buenos Aires, Córdoba, José C. Paz, Mar del Plata, Olavarría, Viedma and Villa María.
