Iruña-Pamplona. Last Saturday, July 6th at noon was the beginning of San Fermin festivities in the capital of Navarre with the traditional Txupinazo; festivities that are greatly celebrated in the Diaspora as well. Basque clubs and Navarrese clubs make a great effort to join in and celebrate, all in their own possibilities and traditions, each adding a little local flavor, with some including txupinazos, buruhandiak, dance, food, drinks and other festive activities.
Every year, at the beginning of July Basque and Navarrese symbols form a kind of network that extends around the world from Australia to Mexico. This continues through July 14th when all join in singing “Pobre de mi”, "Gaixoa ni" (Poor me).
Every year more Basque clubs join in the celebration of San Fermin and so it is difficult to account for all of the events. Today, we present our first photo gallery of San Fermin 2019; we will continue to publish albums of festivities through next week as well.
