Biscayan chef Eneko Atxa, joins the growing list of Basque restaurants in London, with the “Eneko at One Aldwych” that he will run beginning in September in the One Aldwych Hotel. Atxa is one of the highest ranked in Basque cuisine with three Michelin Stars at his restaurant Azurmendi.
Donostia-San Sebastian. The Chef Eneko Atxa, distinguished with three Michelin Stars at his restaurant Azurmendi, will open a new restaurant on September 1st, this time in London in collaboration with the Hotel One Aldwych. The hotel is one of the most prestigious in the city, and is located in the center of Covent Garden. It was opened in 1998.
Atxa will be in charge of the hotel’s restaurant that has the capacity for 110 diners, providing a “modern and fun” interpretation of Basque cuisine.
The restaurant will be called “Eneko at One Aldwych" and will provide entrees like Txerri Boda, a dish that is mainly hake tempura, or vegetarian dishes like remolache tartar, all seasoned with a spectacular and surprising creation and presentation.
The restaurant will also include a bar where you can sample a wide variety of wines selected by Atxa and Txakoli Gorka Izaguirre, made with grapes from the Atxa’s own vineyards. The bar will also offer pintxos, and other Basque-inspired dishes.
During the month of August, the restaurant will only be open to hotel guests, who will also enjoy a 50% discount.
