Basque music and literature has arrived to Poland this October, thanks to various activities organized in the city of Wroclaw and Poznan with the support of the Etxepare Basque Institute. First, Juan Kruz Igerabide, Elixabete Manterola and Harkaitz Cano all participated in the Wroclaw Short Story Festival. In Poznan, at the inauguration of the Basque language and culture lectureship, former student Weronika Nowak gave a concert dedicated to music with a Basque narrative, video of which is included here.

Wroclaw, Poland.  Basque literature was prominent in the Polish city of Wroclaw at its Short story festival.  The program included various activities organized with the support of the Etxepare Basque Institute and EIZIE, the association of Basque translaters.  On the one hand, writer Juan Kruz Igerabide and Elixabete Manterola, along with Monika Czerny, participated in an event on literary translation, where they presented the result of the workshop Juan Kruz Igerabide: Untying Knots. Writers also did readings of their texts in Basque, Spanish and Polish with the help of interpreter, Sonia Kolaczek.

On the other hand, writer Harkaitz Cano participated in a seminar on literary writing and reading.

In addition, in another Polish city, Poznan, the course of the Basque language and culture lectureship at the University Adam Mickiewicz began with an interesting concert, by former student, Weronika Nowak.  She gave a recital of songs in Basque, interspersed with short stories at Sweet Surrender.

The show will be available soon in other Polish cities like Srem, Czemplin and Mosina; and also maybe in Euskal Herria.  Here is a video from the concert:
