The big festival of Bulls is known mainly as a Pamplona event, but Basque and Navarran clubs also do great work recreating the atmosphere of San Fermin thousands of kilometers from its epicenter. In this way, a tribute to the patron of Navarre is replicated all over the world, combining the tradition with a touch of local. In Argentina, the majority of the festivities took place on the weekend. Here we include the first installment of the photo gallery.
Buenos Aires, Argentina. Activities organized by Basque and Navarran clubs in Argentina to celebrate San Fermin are more traditional than original. Traditional because they reproduce the most symbolic elements and original because they require a lot of imagination and creativity to achieve it. But in the Diaspora, particularly in the Souther Cone, this challenge is met every year despite the distances and the winter temperatures. Their festivities include txupinazos, “bulls” and running, red neckerchiefs and above all a great festive climate.
But in Argentina, the festivities coincided with the Independence Day that is celebrated on July 9th, so many clubs held a double celebration. In 2017, one of the most special events took place at the Hiru Erreka Basque Club in Tres Arroyos that celebrated the events with the memorable inauguration of the Basque Plaza. Following is the photo gallery.
