Barcelona, Catalonia. Barcelona’s Euskal Etxea launched a special marketing campaign a few weeks ago that sought to confront the lowered enrollment numbers in their Basque class. The campaign received a great response and once the classes started, the Basque club was very happy to report that their numbers did not decrease and that they were able to maintain their numbers.
“Basque classes are one of the most important activities that our club does and when we heard from the Basque Government that enrollment predictions were not very good due to the crisis, we decided that we had to do something,” as explained by Aitor Arruti to EuskalKultura.com.
Striking photos
The campaign designer, Igotz Ziarreta, has lived for several years in the Catalonian capital and has designed the websites and posters for the Euskal Etxea. Ziarreta, following his usual style, uses images and Basque themes, but giving them a twist in order to create a striking contrast.
The response was very positive and this year classes have begun with 128 students, creating fifteen groups. Basque club members are very happy with the results and wanted to share their experience with other Basque clubs via EuskalKultura.com. They are even going further as they are ready to unselfishly share their images and campaign with other Basque clubs who would like to use it (in order to do so, contact Barcelona’s Euskal Etxea via email: here.
Besides the poster at the top, other three are part of the campaign. The remaining posters can be found here:
