San Francisco, California, USA. The festivities this year will begin with the Basque Pelota and Associated Sports’ World Council’s (Munduko Pilota Batzarra) Pala Corta semi-finals featuring players from Argentina, Cuba and Euskadi. Friday Dance Master Joxema Mendiola will be offering a dance workshop on Mutil Dantza for dance instructors from several of the NABO clubs.
Saturday will combine both pilota and dance with pilota games by Euskadi’s Federation of Pilota, as well as the Pala Corta finals. Mendiola will also offer a Fandango workshop that will be open to the public. After dinner Saturday night the Jean Flesher Orchestra will provide dance music for everyone’s entertainment.
Sunday will begin with mass celebrated by Fr. Lastiri. Following mass Anita Arduain, Pierro Etcharren and Mayi Etcheverry, this year’s Bizki Emankorra award recipients, will be honored for their hard work and dedication to the Center. Then after lunch, the crowds will be treated to more pilota and pala.
