Sydney, Australia. En Australia, with the end of sheltering in place and the reduction of restrictions, the Gure Txoko Basque Club in Sydney has announced that it will reopen its doors next weekend, and so anyone wishing to enjoy their wonderful food next Sunday, should be ready to make a reservation. “We are opening respecting of course the measures put in place due to COVID 19,” club sources told EuskalKultura.eus.
The club took advantage of the time that Gure Txoko was closed to do maintenance work and repair damage caused by the big storm that struck the area in February and took away part of the roof. “The insurance has repaired the roof damage,” they said, and “we have reconstructed the entire ceiling, insulating it correctly, dealing with humidity," so "we will be protected and dry for a time," they say.
Gure Txoko would like to thank Alvaro in particular who is in charge of taking care of the house “for being very attentive to work needed, as well as making sure that everything was done correctly. Eskerrik asko Alvaro!”
