Donostia-San Sebastián. Pedro J. Oiarzabal, researcher and Diaspora expert has published another installment in his blog (here in Basque, here in Spanish) where he comments and poses questions to youth in Euskal Herria and the Diaspora. There you can read the response that youth from Euskal Herria have provided. But, as we said, he has also addressed Basque youth in the Diaspora, who he asks the following:
“I would like to make an appeal to young people in the Diaspora to tell us what it means to them to preserve their relationship with their Basque heritage today. Please provide your response, not to exceed an A4 page in Basque, Spanish, French or English to info@euskalkultur.com before January 31, 2021. The top four finalists will be published here.” These responses and commentary really interest us.
So come on reader and share this news with youth that you know so they can participate, even if their response is brief. We hope to be surprised by unexpected, purposeful, committed and moving responses. We think it can be a really valuable exercise. Language is not a problem; respond in Basque, Spanish, French or English. Please participate and send your answer to info@euskalkultura.com with “Imagining the Basque Diaspora” in the subject line.
Many thanks in advance for your help!
