Science Museum, the Rezola Cement Museum, Untzi Museoa-Naval Museum and Museo Real 100. Deadline to apply is November 16.

Donostia-San Sebastian.   The 2016 San Sebastian Foundation has opened the call to apply for scholarships specifically aimed at Basques in the Diaspora in collaboration with Donostia Kultura and the local museum network.  These are the “Labore” scholarships for residencies in some of the aforementioned museums.  The projects, in whichever artistic discipline, should propose a reinterpretation and dialogue with the museum collection, its building, its audience, its environment and its social context.

There are three types of residencies:

-Local or international artists that present a collaborative project.  One of the artists should be from one of the seven provinces or belong to the Basque Diaspora, and the second should be international.  The Aquarium, the Rezola Cement Museum and Eureka! Science Museum are the museums who participate in this type.

-Artists from one of the seven provinces or the Basque Diaspora for individual projects.  The museums participating in this type are: The Rezola Cement Museum, the Diocesan Museum, the Untzi Naval Museum, the Museum Real Sociedad, the Aquarium, Eureka! Science Museum, and the San Telmo Museum.

-The Third type is directed to artists with individual projects regardless of where you are from.  The Aquarium, Eureka! Science Museum, and the Rezola Cement Museum, are those participating in this third type.

Each scholarship is for 2,000 Euros for the project and a maximum of 1,000 Euros for expenses associated with the work.  Room and board will be paid and in the case of international artists airfare will also be included to Donostia.

Residencies will take place between January 25 and March 18, 2016.  Deadline to apply is November 16.
