Ayacucho, Argentina. Another activity affected by COVID-19 and preventive measures taken, in this case in the Southern Cone, to mitigate its consequences. Yesterday, Argentina’s Mus Federation confirmed to EuskalKultura.eus the cancellation of the National Mus Tournament that was to take place in August at the Euskal Odola Basque Club in Ayacucho, in the interior of the province of Buenos Aires.
According to Federation president, Fernando Mujica, “It is really hard to believe that everything will be back to normal by August allowing the event to take place. On the other hand, as the 2020 World Cup - which was going to take place in Uruguay - was also suspended, that motivation has also been taken away, which is to qualify for that event.”
Now all that is left is to determine the venue of the 2021 National Championship, if Ayacucho could now aspire to organize next year’s meeting. “2021 was already planned to take place in San Nicolas; now we have to meet to see if San Nicolas will give up that date and if everything moves to the next year, or if we have to make other changes," Mujica explained.
