Necochea, Argentina. Joseba Bilbao is a well-known person in the world of pilota, in Argentina as well as in international championships. He has been part of the Basque club since he was a child. His grandfather, Alfredo Bilbao, was one of the founders of this club that is celebrating this year its 75th anniversary. Joseba's father, Carlos, passed away last year and was also a hard and committed worker and a distinguished person in the entity. And what about his sister Maite’s commitment to Basque culture who has lived and taught Basque in Hernani for some time.
Joseba is very appreciated not only in Necochea, but in and outside of the Basque community. It is enough to mention that in the last couple of years, he has received the “City of Necochea’s Beloved Son” award, as well as the “Golden Suspension Bridge” (symbol of the city), awarded by local sports journalists.
