Representatives from Argentina, Peru, Chile, Venezuela and Uruguay will begin matches as part of the 8th Mercomus Mus Championships that are organized this time by the Euskaro Basque Club in Montevideo. The competing teams arrived last night with their delegations and attended a welcome cocktail before the competition began this morning. The tournament will run through Saturday night with a farewell dinner and awards ceremony.
Montevideo, Uruguay. The eighth edition of the south American Mus Championship MercoMus, where 13 qualifying teams from Argentina (La Plata, Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires), Peru, Chile Venezuela and Uruguay will compete.
All teams must play each other in a program that includes a reception, and a welcome cocktail that took place on Wednesday night. The competition will begin on Thursday at 9am and will include morning and afternoon sessions. There will also be an opportunity to visit and get to know various part of the city as well as greet officials. Outings are planned to the Legislature, the Carnaval Museum, the port market and the Sarandi pedestrian area, among others.
Thirteen games will be played in all. The awards ceremony will take place at the farewell dinner on Saturday at 9pm.
Lodging is being provided by the Hotel Alvear and meals will take place at the Euskaro clubhouse, the oldest club in Uruguay. The participating delegations will head for home on Sunday morning.
