There will be eight classes and the contents will be specifically geared towards anyone wishing to manage basic structures of the language before traveling to the Basque Country. This is open to anyone wishing to participate, wanting an introduction to Euskera. Classes are free and prior registration is not required.
Mar del Plata, Argentina. Tomorrow, February 6, the Denak Bat Basque club will begin teaching a summer Basque course that will be intensive and directed towards travelers and anyone wanting a basic introduction to the Basque language from the communicative approach. Thanks to local teacher Nerea Ariznabarreta, classes will take place on Fridays from 18:30-20:30 through March 27 to coincide with the beginning of the regular courses.
In speaking to EuskalKultura.com, the professor explained that “the idea came from the Basque club dantzaris, since a group of them will travel to the Basque Country this year and would like to have some basic knowledge in order to be able to live in Euskera, at least in simple day-to-day activities like saying hello, introductions, and to be able to shop and move around the city.”
“In addition,” Ariznabarreta added, “doing it during vacation time, will allow many to attend who wouldn’t be able to during the regular courses since even though geared towards travelers, it will also be useful for those who want an introduction to the language and then if they would like to continue, they can always enroll in the normal course.”
Classes are free and advance registration isn’t required. In regards to the irakasle, we would like to remind you that she is part of the Euskara Munduan program, run by HABE and FEVA in Argentina, and that in January she participated in her 5th barnetegi as part of the 2013-2016 program that took place in Salto, Uruguay. For more information, get in touch with Denak Bat or with Nerea Ariznabarreta directly.
The Basque club has also invited everyone to attend the Taska that will take place on February 21 at 9:00pm. During the evening there will be Basque dancing, and typical dishes. Admission is $35.
