The Basque Government has published, through the Department of Culture, the book "To know the Basque Country", a work that is intented to be used as a manual for immigrants and Diaspora Basques to better know the diverse aspects of the Basque Culture. The book has been published into the principle languages of the locals, immigration, the Diaspora, and for tourism (Basque, Spanish, English, French, Chinese, Arabic, and Romanian) and topics like the culture, language, society, values, institutions, economy, and the political system of government are discussed. The Basque Government has published the first 12,000 copies, but you can also download the whole book from www.euskadi.net. The authors are Ramon Zallo and Mikel Ayuso.

Donostia-San Sebastian.  The objective of this book is to provide a door of access to the Basque Culture to immigrants that live in the Basque Country, to the descendants of Basques of the Diaspora, and to tourists and visitors. The text offers to Basque decendants that emigrated to America or Asia "a basic knowledge of the culture and the country of their elders and contact with their roots." It has been published in Basque, Spanish, English, French, Chinese, Arabic, and Romanian.

The book is also intended is for immigrants.  The immigrants fit into the Basque society but in many cases they are without clear knowledge of Basque habits and codes. The material provided here is based on the idea that a good part of the new long-term residents will become full Basque citizens with all rights, privileges and obligations, and will contribute their efforts and cultural heritage to enrich the society, workforce, culture and public treasury of the host country.

The main goal and purpose is to provide readers with a general overview of Euskal Herria (the Basque Country). "We also hope it will spark curiosity and encourage them to take their own initiative to learn more about the subjects only just upon touched in this handbook."
