La Plata, Argentina. Aizpea Goenaga, Director of the Etxepare Basque Institute, and Mari Jose Olaziregi, Director of the Promotion of Euskera are in Argentina on a trip that will also include stops in Chile to meet with cultural agencies and directors of the Basque lectureships as well as of local Basque entities.
Yesterday the itinerary included a visit to the International Book Fair in Buenos Aires, among other activities. Today the Etxepare representatives will be in La Plata along with the Delegate of Euskadi in Argentina, Sara Pagola. This morning they will meet with Pedro Mauregi and others responsible for the Basque language and culture lectureship at the National University of La Plata. In the afternoon, Goenaga and Olaziregi will speak with students participating in the program in an informal meeting, and will visit with the La Plata Basque club's president Javier Clua at Euzko Etxea's facilities.
In Chile, Lectureships and Art
The trip will continue tomorrow to Chile where the Etxepare delegation will be received by the Delegate of Euskadi, Rafael Kutz. In the morning they will meet with representatives of the National Council of Culture and the Arts (CNCA) and the day after they will hold various meetings with those responsible for the Basque language and culture lectureships at the Universidad de Chile and at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
