Bilbao, Bizkaia. Euskal Telebista (ETB) will be offering a class at the Bertso Eskola (Bertsolari School) on Hitzetik Hortzera, the weekly program that the Basque public TV dedicates to Bertsolaritza. The bertsos of Aissa Intxausti, from Lekeitio, will be answered by those of Dyan Inglis, from Bristol, England on the program presented every week by another berstolari Eider Perez and co-produced by the Bertsolari Elkartea and ETB.
Born in England, Dylan Inglis is 22 and has been learning Basque for a year and a half and he is now interested in Bertsolaritza: we´ll have the opportunity to see how he does this weekend on Hitzetik Hortzera
All Bertsolari schools have their own particularities, but we will learn about an unusual student in this program. Bertsolari Aissa Intxausti teaches at the Bertsolari School in Lekeitio and Markina-Xemein. From the other side of the screen, Dylan Inglis improvises bertsos with her every month. Inglis is 22 and dominates five languages, including Euskera. Now, with the help of Aissa, he is entering the language of bertsolaritza and improvised rhyme in Basque.
In the aforementioned program, Intxausit will come in from the port in Lekeitio and will talk via videoconference with Bristol, where Dylan Inglis will be waiting for her. The youth from England will tell us how and when he became acquainted with Bertsolaritza and we will have the chance to hear his bertsos.
Hitzetik Hortzera airs every Saturday at 9pm on ETB1 (European continental time); on Sunday morning at 2:40am on ETB-Sat/Canal Vasco. And from its broadcast on ETB1, you can watch it anytime on EITB A la Carte.
