Vitoria-Gasteiz. Aiko Eskola, has recently begun offering dance classes online, and will now reserve a number of spots for members of Basque clubs around the world. The Basque Government will select individuals to take these classes and will also award them a scholarship so that they will be free of charge to these participants. The classes can be followed from all over the world using any number of devises (desktop, laptop, tablet, smartphone). Classes will be taught in Basque, Spanish or English.
This is the first initiative of the new “Dantza Munduan” program following the recommendations approved at the 7th World Congress of Basque Collectivities Abroad, administered by the Basque Government’s Directorate of the Basque Community Abroad
Classes can be followed live, or also in their recorded version depending on what the participant chooses. Classes in Spanish and English will be taught on Sunday afternoons. Anyone wishing to take advantage of this opportunity, needs to approach his/her Basque club, with the following requirements.
1 - Be members of a Basque Club.
2 - The Basque Clubs must endorse them as candidates. The candidates must commit themselves to follow all the classes.
3 - The Basque Club must prove that these people are dancers or have a proven interest in Basque dance.
Basque clubs have until December 13 2020 to present candidates and should do so including the name and email of each. These can be sent to euskaletxeak@euskadi.eus.
