Chacabuco, Argentina. During this week there will be a program of Peace and Community in the city of Chacabuco in the Province of Buenos Aires. The event is an initiative by the Directorates of Culture and Institutional Relations, and the city’s Coordination of Human Rights, and includes the participation of representatives of different nations and communities, educational establishments and students.
With activities adapted to the health situation, one of the attractions of the week are the display windows of each community. In the case of the local Guillermo Larregui Basque Club, they presented mannequins in typical dantzari dress with the Argentine flag and Ikurriña, along with other iconic elements from the local Basques including a photo of the legendary Guillermo Larregui "The Basque of the Wheelbarrow" in the window of Camouflage.

The participation of the Basque club didn’t end there. On Monday, the Basque club sukaldaris (cooks) Eliana Domench, Lucía Igarzabal and Pablo Pavesa prepared a dozen servings of Tripakiak bizkaitar erara (tripes Biscayan style), packaged ready to donate. This Saturday with the “Convidar Chacabuco” program these will be given to individuals in extreme need.
Besides that, the Guillermo Larregui Basque Club told EuskalKultura.eus that during this pause in face-to-face activities they have been working on the clubhouse. Dance classes continue virtually and the Muslaris get together in a locale set up for meetings, on Fridays and Saturday, with “transparent chinstraps” so that signs can be seen,” Pavesa said.
