New York, USA. Txikifest will highlight how food-friendly Txakolin is when paired with an international array of culinary styles. Txakoli, typically an effervescent low alcohol wine, is distributed each spring making it the perfect pour. Profit from sales benefit FACES (Finding A Cure for Epilepsy and Seizures).
In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to try inspired dishes from other participating restaurants and chefs: Co.'s Jim Lahey, Edi and The Wolf & Seäsonal's Wolfgang Ban & Edi Frauneder, El Quinto Pino's Alex Raij & Eder Montero, Hurricane Club's Craig Koketsu, La Newyorkina's Fany Gerson, Lassi's Heather Carlucci-Rodriguez Poole's Downtown Diner's Ashley Christensen, Taim/Taim Mobile's Einat Admony & Stefan Nafziger, Txikito's Alex Raij & Eder Montero.
Guests will enjoy delicious Basque txakoli from participating winemakers and producers such as Ameztoi, Uriondo, Xarmant, Itsas Mendi, Gorka Izagirre, Gurrutxaga Doniene Gorrondona, Txomin Etxaniz, Berroia, Talai Berri and Ulacia; as well as Basque cider provided by Isastegi.
Space is limited, and tickets are $45 in advance and can be purchased here. Ticket includes an official Txikifest 2011 Txakolina gift glass and unlimited samples of Txakoli and food throughout the event, as well as opportunities to win products from sponsors Despaña Brand Foods, and Kukuxumusu.
