Madrid, Spain. Karlos Cid Abasolo is a member of the Basque Diaspora. Born in Madrid in 1963, in his youth he decided to travel and get to know the Basque Country better, its culture and language and with time he achieved his goals, including dominating the Basque language. Today he is a Ph.D. in the Humanities, professor of Basque Philology at the Complutense University in Madrid and head of its department of Basque Studies.
In a previous article we talked about his latest book of poems Laztanak eta Aizkorak (Caresses and Axes). We have chosen this poem dedicated to the Basque Diaspora from his first book Keinu konplizeak (Conspiratorial Gestures), to which we have added the English translation.
