The Basque Government and the Peace Museum Foundation in Gernika have agreed to promote the organization and implementation of a plan to display the exhibit “The Bombing of Gernika.” The initiative is aimed at the Basque community abroad, where the memory of the bombing holds enormous symbolic value. Participation of Basque clubs and assocations will be asked so that together with their respective Delegations of Euskadi they can house and display the exhibit.
Vitoria-Gasteiz. The Basque Government’s Secretary General of Foreign Action and the Peace Museum Foundation in Gernika have agreed to promote the organization and implementation of this plan around the exhibit “The Bombing of Gernika,” in order for it to travel to Basque communities around the world and be exhibited by Basque clubs and Delegations of Euskadi.
The Peace Museum Foundation in Gernika holds the intellectual rights of the archive and the exhibit, “The Bombing of Gernika.” For its part, the Basque Government’s Secretary General of Foreign Action is interested in obtaining free transfer of the right of sue of the file that makes up “The Bombing of Gernika,” for printing and exhibition in the Basque Diaspora.

Signing the agreement of collaboration between the Peace Museum Foundation in Gernika and the Basque Government’s Secretary General of Foreign Action gives the right for temporary use for the archive for its dissemination abroad during the period of 2018-2020, which may be extended. Signing the agreement are Marian Elorza, Secretary General of Foreign Affairs in the Basque Government and Jose Maria Gorroño, president of the Peace Museum Foundation in Gernika.
The exhibits will be organized principally by the Delegations of Euskadi abroad, as well as Basque clubs around the world whose collaboration and contributions will also be requested.
