From 450 kilometers above and 1,000 kilometers away. The specialized US company, Planet, has shared the image taken with an inclination between 40-60 degrees: “That is how we achieve images of the earth similar to the view that we would have from the window of an airplane,” according to the company’s spokesperson. What catches your eye in the photo is how San Mames Barria stands out and how the perspective of the Zorrotzaurre peninsula is especially emphasized.
The Planet Company has shared a gallery of images, including one of Botxo taken in this special way. Normally photos are taken from just above the intended object in a perpendicular position. These however, are done at an angle between 40-60 degrees and so this is “how we take pictures of the earth similar to the view that we would have form the window of an airplane,” the company’s spokesperson explained in the supplement of El Pais, Verne.
The photo of Bilbao is taken from 450 kilometers above, but not perpendicularly, instead at an angle between 45-60 degrees, and a distance of some 1,000 kilometers. Without a doubt, what stands out the most is San Mames Barria, Athletic’s field. You can also distinguish the Zorrotzaurre (still) peninsula.
