Rosario, Argentina. Magdalena Mignaburu, member of Eusko Ekintza-Acción Vasca in Argentina, explained to EuskalKultura.com that “this is a project that has been planned for some time and that has finally materialized in a meeting that took place in Rosario on January 25th, when after coming to an agreement, some principles were also agreed upon. As you know, the goals of Eusko Ekintza have always been to spread Basque culture and nationalism, but this has never taken place in the realm of academia. The new function of the Institute is, to achieve this new goal,” said Mignaburu.
Various Talks
In a note that was made public yesterday, directors of the recently created Institute also announced the activities that they are planning for 2014. Among these, there will be a series of talks that are part of the cultural offerings of FEVA, with the following topics and presenters:

It will also be the Manuel de Irujo Institute that is in charge of the presentations in Argentina of the book Patria Vasca en Argentina. Un siglo de nacionalismo vasco (The Basque Motherland in Argentina, a Century of Basque Nationalism) by Magdalena Mignaburu. After being presented at the end of 2013 in the Basque Country, Mignaburu’s work will now be made available in Argentina. According to the author, the Argentinean presentation will take place in April as part of the Buenos Aires Book Fair.
Without leaving the realm of publishing, the new culture entity also announced the publication of new material in hopes of reaching more readers which is also a goal of the Institute. Finally, “and not less important,” it will also begin a service of family reunions.
Remember that the Manuel de Irujo Institute was created and will develop as part of Eusko Ekintza-Acción Vasca in Argentina. In the same way, it is also supported by the Extraterritorial Organization of the EAJ-PNV in Argentina.
