Dantzaris from Gral. Belgrano ready to participate in the Peatonal Festival 2020.  Along with them, their two teachers Edurne Altune (left) and Barbara Perez Arrua (right) Just two months have passed since the last meeting where Gral Belgrano Gure Etxe Euskal Etxea members set specific goals for 2020.  One of the main goals is to strengthen and increase the number of dantzaris in the recently created Gure Dantza dance group.  The ideas were not left in words and on February 2nd the dantzaris were presented at the local Summer Festival “Peatonal 2020.”

The new board of directors of the Magdalena Basque Club celebrated San Sebastian and planted an oak in Memory Park

The Ongi Etorri Basque Club in Magdalena planted an oak in Memory Park Encouraged by the new air that the local Euskal Etxea breathes, the Basque community of Magdalena, in the province of Buenos Aires, celebrated San Sebastian Day with a ceremony in Memory Park.  There, members and friends of the Ongi Etorri Basque Club, planted an oak and unveiled a commemorative plaque.  The event was also attended by city officials including Mayor Gonzalo Peluso.

Fermin Alzugaray, originally from Lesaka, passed away in Elko and his friends have organized a crowdfunding to help

Fermin Alzugaray passed away in Elko, NV on January 24, 2020 On January 24th, Fermin Alzugaray  passed away at the Elko Hospital at the age of 84, after battling various types of cancer.  Originally from Lesaka, his friends have organized a crowdfunding campaign, GoFund, in hopes of raising money to help with his medical expenses, family travel as well as funeral costs. The Etxepare Basque Institute put a new Euskara Munduan group together that began their training at the 2020 Summer Barnetegi in San Nicolas The transmission chain of the Basque languages has not been broken with another 15 teachers trained in the Euskara Munduan Program that concluded their training with the possibility of accrediting their level of Euskera last July.  The Euskal Etxea in San Nicolas then welcomed a new group of 35 future teachers from Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Uruguay.  In the worlds of Etxepare Institute representative ...
