75th Anniversary at Euzko Etxea in Necochea, Argentina On April 15th, the Euzko Etxea in Necochea will celebrate 75 years.  In this context of social isolation that we are in due to the Coronavirus, the Basque club could not carry out its planned program that included artistic and sporting events along with a huge gathering and dinner event, but not wanting the date to pass unnoticed, they began a wonderful initiative yesterday.

Just one click to convert voice to text: Aditu automatically transcribes videos and audio in Basque and Spanish

The Elhuyar Foundation, headquartered in Usurbil (Gipuzkoa) has created and launched a voice recognition program that automatically transcribes and subtitles audio and video in Basque and Spanish.  The technology, Aditu, can serve as the basis for introducing the Basque language in devices that allow interaction between people and machines.  Jakes Goikoetxea signs this article in Berria a report that we have condensed here for our readers.

Grants for individuals in dire need are managed by the network of Basque clubs.  Seen here, Eusko Aterpea Basque Club in General Rodriguez The Governing Council of the Basque Government approved yesterday the 2020 call for grants for individuals in dire need in Basque communities around the world. Two of the upcoming Basque festivals that were cancelled, “Buenos Aires Celebrates,” and the Fresno Basque Festival The news came after the Argentine Government’s announcement to extend the quarantine for the coronavirus, for another two weeks, until April14th.  Confirming that the massive "Buenos Aires Celebrates the Basque Country" event that was to take place this May 10 on Avenida de Mayo in the capital is cancelled and postponed, for the time being without a new date.

In solidarity for the coronavirus: the Saladillo Basque Club has been adapted as a containment space for contagious patients
