The Basque Cultural Center (Gure Euskal Etxea) in San Francisco is getting ready for its traditional Axoa Lunch next week. Axoa is a traditional dish in Iparralde, said to originate in the area of Ezpeleta, and includes veal, peppers from Ezpeleta and onion. A few days ago, we announced that the Euzkaldunak Basque Club in Boise adjusted its General Assembly, held annually the last week of January due to the pandemic. As a result, voting for the open spots on its Board of Directors will be carried out by mail. This time, the Txoko Ona Basque Club in Homedale also let us know that they will be holding elections in the same way.

Change in the Delegation of Euskadi in Mexico. The Basque Government has approved at its Governing Council meeting this morning, the dismissal of the delegate of Euskadi in Mexico, Ibon Mendibelzua, and the appointment of Jose Maria Cazalis as the new delegate. These decissions will come into force when they are published in the Official Bulletin of the Basque Country in the coming days.

The Lagunt eta Maita Basque Club in Pau announced that the CD “Herria gogan,” by the club’s men’s choir, is now available to purchase.
