New Basque club officially recognized by the Basque Government: Marseillako Euskal Etxea

The Basque Government approved the official recognition of the Marseillako Euskal Etxea as a Basque club on Tuesday, the Basque club in Marseille under the name: "Marseillako Euskal Etxea-Maison Basque de Marseille” and its incorporation in the general registry of Basque clubs in the world.

The 15th edition of the Provincial Immigrant Festival in San Luis

The Argentinian province of San Luis celebrated its 15th edition of the Immigrant Festival and the Basque club in Villa Mercedes guaranteed the presence of the Basque community at the event.  With the participation of Bilbao entrepreneur Kepa Ramos Herrero, the club starred all of the activities of the Festival that took place on the Calle Angosta.  You could also hear Basque, in the film presented by Carlos Gabilondo and in the voices of the Camerata de la Luna.

From Montevideo and Santiago, more pictures of Euskara Day: Basques took to the streets to celebrate the day

Members of the Aldaxka Association in Montevideo took to the streets to introduce residents of Montevideo to the Basque language.

With the year coming to an end, we are still receiving photos of International Euskera Day celebrations from all over the world.  This last segment includes photos from the festivities at the Basque Community of Chile in Santiago, and activities at the Aldaxka Association in Montevideo, that took to the streets to introduce the Basque language to residents there (and later went to dinner).

Meggan Laxalt Mackey defended her MA thesis on November 20th, at the Basque Block in Boise, Idaho. A very symbolic place, especially for the presentation of a project entitled ‘Lekuak: The Basque Places of Boise, Idaho.’ The event took place in the lower level of the Leku Ona Restaurant, with some forty people attending it: “It was very interesting and fun. People also asked some great questions,” said she in conversation with EuskalKultura.com.

The Olentzero visits the Chascomus Basque club that has postponed the deadline to enroll in Udaleku 2016

In hopes of facilitating enrollment and include the largest number of participants possible, the Zingirako “Euskaldunak in Chascomus has postponed the deadline for enrolling in Udaleku 2016 to this weekend. The summer camp that will be held on January 5-9, is aimed at children between the ages of 12 an 16 and includes a surprise this year linked to a musical activity. While waiting for this first activity of 2016, the Basque club in Chascomus welcomed the Olentzero to its clubhouse.

The Basque club in Jose C. Paz paid tribute to 50 club members born in the Basque Country.  The ceremony took place as part of the club’s end of year lunch and moved those present when certificates were presented to members currently living in Argentina.

The Lagun Onak Basque club in Pergamino will represent the Basque community at the Arte Noche Festival

The end of year party for Lagun Onak with all of the dancers gathered to dance Carnaval de Lantz

The event is for today, beginning at 19:00 at the pedestrian area of San Nicolas, province of Buenos Aires with the participation of local organizations, institutions and communities.  The program is large and will convert the commercial center of the city into a large showcase for each community to display its works.  In the case of Lagun Onak, they will perform dances and provide food and information about the Basque Country.
