In greater Buenos Aires, invited by members of the Our Lady of Aranzazu Parish in the city of San Fernando, the choir and a Aurreskulari from the Euskaltzaleak association participated in the feast of this Basque advocation of the Virgin patron saint of San Fernando. “Even if we had to cancel the procession and the fair because of the weather, the church filled with parishioners during mass,” according to church sources.

Members of the Euskal Txokoa are enthusiastically planning their trip to Macachin for what will be the club’s first Semana Nacional Vasca (Basque Argentinean National Week). Along with this great news, the club also let us know that it will host its second Taberna night in September, and in October it will host the “Transforming Looks” exhibit.

The Bizkaia:Talent Association will participate this week in the Naturejobs Career Expo in London as a representative of Basque Country organizations who need to recruit highly-qualified staff. The entity will take advantage of being there to also hold a meeting of Basque professionals that live in the London area on September 18.

The Mallorca Basque club is getting ready to return to class beginning Basque classes at the club. In the middle of registration, they let us know that they are looking for a teacher that would be in charge of one of the groups for four hours a week. They are inviting anyone interested to get in touch with the club. In addition, they also let us know about some of their upcoming activating: a pilota workshop on October 11, and another edition of Basque Cultural Week on October 23-25.

The chamber gathers businesses, entrepreneurs and professionals from various economic sectors from all over Argentina, that all have their Basque origin or interest in common. Created last year, and currently directed by Jose Alberto Bereciartua, the entity attained legal status last June and is an associate of the Argentine Confederation of Medium Enterprisses (CAME), and is in permanent contact with the Delegation of the Basque Government and FEVA.

Last Saturday, the Euskal Echea College celebrated its traditional annual festival at the clubhouse in Llavallol. The Euskal Jaia gathered more than 1,000 people including students, professors, parents and friends. During the festivities the college also joined in the 25th anniversary of Argentinan Euskaraz (Basque language learning program), performing an Aurresku in its honor.

The Naguanagua Basque club, near Valencia, in the Venezuelan state of Carabobo, celebrated its patron Saint on August 15, the Virgin of Begoña. Despite it being vacation time, many members didn’t want to miss the festivities and the once again the attendance also included friends from the Basque club in Caracas, from Maracay and San Felipe.

The new cider house “Eneko Sagardotegia,” in Necochea will provide the same menu as Basque cider houses on special occasions and Basque club festivities; while the cider, 'made in Necochea', is being conserved in three barrels and will also be bottled. Along with the news of the inauguration organizers, the Necochea's Betikoak Gastronomic Society, also announced that there is a possibly of a new “txotx” at the beginning of October.

Organized by the local Basque community, the city of Coronel Pringles accompanied Eusko Biltzar at the celebration of its 25th anniversary. During the ceremony, not only the history of the club was covered along with its founders, but also current activities were announced and the Basque choir and dantzaris performed.
