Buenos Aires, Argentina. With the echo of carnival still in the air, the city of Buenos Aires extends an invitation to the community. The “Community Gastronomic Patio” puts neighbors within reach, in the same spot, with the possibility to enjoy typical dishes made by community members themselves, following original recipes.
Nearly 50 communities will participate in this gastronomic festival, among them the Basques, as in 2013 they will have two booths manned by the Laurak Bat and Euskaltzaleak Basque clubs. The institutions will provide their specialties to visitors with Euskaltzaleak preparing a variety of pintxos and Laurak Bat preparing croquettes and 'fritos'. Although the attention will be on the food, there will also be “live music, dance and a typical Basque festival ambiance.”
The “Community Gastronomic Patio” will take place on March 15th and will become a “warm-up” for the community. Don’t forget that “Buenos Aires Celebrates the Basque Country,” will take place on May 11th, an activity that attracts thousands of visitors who want to get to know Basque culture better.
The “Gastronomic Patio” will open its doors at 4:00pm and will close at 11:00pm. It will be located steps away from the Plaza de Mayo, on the corner of Ave. de Mayo and Bolivar. Finally, organizers have announced that in the case of rain, it will be postponed to Sunday the 16th with the same program.
