Buenos Aires, Argentina. An extensive and varied program of events begins this Monday and will gather club members and friends, but also a large number of delegations from other Basque clubs, who will travel especially to participate in the anniversary at “Buenos Aires Celebrates.” The list of guests will also include Basque Government representatives that will accompany the eldest club on this special occasion.
The delegation from Euskadi will include Bingen Zupiria, Minister of Culture and Linguistic Policy: Marian Elorza: Secretary General of Foreign Action; Gorka Alvarez Aranburu, Director of the Basque Community Abroad; Sara Pagola, Delegate of the Basque Government in Argentina-Mercosur; and two technitians of the Government.
From Monday through Sunday the range of proposals is broad and includes culture, academic, sports, and recreational activities as well as tributes to the club and its members of all ages. Following the full program of events:
Monday, March 13

Wednesday, March 15
-9 -18hs, International Academic Conference: "Migrants, Refugees, Exiles. Key Economic and Political Perspectives of Human Rights from Past to Present”. Academic day in honor of the 140th Anniversary of the Foundation of the Laurak Bat Basque Club in Buenos Aires. Place: College of Law – University of Buenos Aires, in the Green Room. -16 - 18hs: Round table on the “Museum of Basque Immigration” at the Basque Library at Laurak Bat. Including the participation of Miguel Chiloteguy (Deputy Director of the Museum of Galician Immigration), Ruy Farías (CONICET and the Museum of Galician Immigration), Enrique Luco (Member of ICOM, World Council of Museums at UNESCO and Director of the Saavedra Museum), Diego M. Santos (Historian and Curator of the Museum in La Plata and the Museum of Decorative Art) and Pablo Ubierna, José Gabriel Anitua and José Gutiérrez from Laurak Bat.
