February 15, 1943 - June 16, 2022
Steve was born in Webb City, Missouri but spent most his life in Bakersfield, California. He graduated from Bakersfield High in 1960, and earned a BA from Long Beach State in Education, which he utilized as a teacher at both Harris Elementary school and Curran Jr High from 1965-2004.
Whether it was through education or organizing ball hockey leagues in the 70's, coaching BHS sports in the 80's and early 90's, or his devotion to all things Basque the last third of his life, Steve touched the lives of many with his friendship, enthusiasm and generosity.
Steve is survived by his wife of 58 years, Judy (Errea) Bass, his two sons Greg and Brian, and Brian's wife Allison.
In lieu of flowers we ask that monetary donations be made in his name to the Kern County Basque Club.
