Ruby (Berriochoa) Jensen passed away at the age of 94 on Sunday, December 18, 2022, in Spokane, Washington.
Ruby was born to Adrian Berriochoa and Celestina Begoña Berriochoa on May 8, 1928, in Shoshone, Idaho. She graduated from Mountain Home High School in Mountain Home, Idaho, and later earned her associates degree from Kinman Business University in Spokane.
Ruby married Earl A. Jensen, Sr. on November 14, 1947, at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes in Spokane. Together they settled in Spokane calling it home for more than 75 years. Ruby held different jobs over the years, working at the Ridpath Hotel, Inland Empire Paper Co., and in real estate, but her main job was at home raising their nine children.
In her younger years, Ruby enjoyed bowling in leagues. She loved gathering for coffee with her friends and neighbors, Joanne, Esther, and Gloria. Ruby also loved spending her time playing cards and Yahtzee with her kids and grandkids. She cherished the summer trips to Mountain Home, Idaho, with all nine children.
Basque is Ruby’s nationality, but most Basque think it is also a personality trait. Ruby loved conversation; she was witty, fun-loving, and smart.
