Rosario Aramburu
Rosario Aramburu (October 1, 1930 - March 18, 2022)

03/18/2022 - Daly City, California, USA

Rosario Aramburu left this world accompanied by angels peacefully with her children at her side on March 18, 2022 at the age of 91.

She was born in a small fishing village in the Basque country. Her father was a fisherman and she would walk many miles with her mother, selling fish throughout many nearby villages.

Rosario didn't have an easy start in life. When she was six, the Spanish Civil War broke out and her father was imprisoned. She endured hiding from the bombings and fleeing their home.

When she was 22, she met our father, Julian, a handsome young U.S WW2 veteran who traveled back to his hometown in the Basque country looking for a wife. He fell in love with her beauty and fun personality. They were soon married and he brought her back to San Francisco in 1952.

She was just 22 years old. What an adventure for her! They traveled a few weeks by ship where she was constantly seasick, hated American food and spoke no English. She said she learned English by watching her favorite TV show "I Love Lucy".

They soon had a family of four children. Rose loved to sing as she cooked. Rose had a green thumb and loved working in her garden. She was stunningly beautiful with her honey-colored hair and blue eyes.

Rose is survived by her sister, Feli Barainca, children Virginia Hunter (Ron), Arlene Spellman (Ben), Elizabeth Kvarna (Terje), and Albert Aramburu (Kim), grandchildren: Anthony Hunter (Lindsay), Angela Duval (Nathan), Krystal Duncan (Dominic), Lucas Aramburu, and Erik (Joyce), Jesse, Vincent and Maite Kvarna along with 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Dear Mommy, we miss you with all of our hearts and will see you and Daddy in heaven. Maite zaitugu asko, Ama.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 31, 5:00 to 9:00 with a Vigil at 7:00pm at Cypress Lawn, Colma. A Funeral Mass will be Friday, April 1 at 11:00am at St. Andrews Catholic Church, Daly City

(We appreciate guests having been vaccinated to protect our at-risk guests.)
