05/10/2022 - Nampa, ID, USA
Pete Uberuaga, 83, of Nampa passed away peacefully on May 10, 2022.
Pete was born in Cenarruza Spain to Pedro and Maria Guenechea Uberuaga on 01/01/1939. Pete was the youngest of 6 children. He grew up in Spain with his 5 sisters, Dee, Josephine, Julie, Christy and Marie.
He migrated to the US in 1963 where he worked in the sheep, lumber, dairy and meat packing industries.
He eventually found his way to Homedale where he met and eventually married Irene Chadez, inheriting her family of 5: John (Shawna) Chadez, Gary (Joan) Chadez, Chris (Blaine) Simpson, Clayton (Julie) Chadez, Duane (Kathy) Chadez. Pete loved watching his family grow to 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
They settled on a small acreage in Nampa where they enjoyed 48 years together. He kept the family constantly supplied with fresh vegetables, eggs, chicken, pork and beef which he raised and processed on his acreage. He regularly hosted large picnics and holiday dinners with the family. His greatest pride was becoming a US citizen in 1997.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents, older sisters Dee and Josephine, grandson Ryan, great-great grandchildren Zyrnna and Ziraha, and wife Irene.
The family thanks the staff of Karcher Estates and First Choice Hospice for their loving care helping us walk Pete to the gate of eternal life.
There will be a Rosary in the chapel at Alsip Funeral Home in Nampa, at 1:30 Saturday the 14th. Graveside services will be at 3:00 at the Marsing/Homedale cemetery, and a Celebration of Life immediately afterward at Brandi Day’s at 17545 Four Wheel Drive Rd, Caldwell.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation to Txoko Basque Center in Homedale.
