Pedro F. Elizondo passed away on September 2, 2019 in Santa Rosa at the age of 90 years.
Devoted husband of the late Maria Elizondo. Cherished father of Diolinda Borysowicz, Antonio Machado, Eva Machado, Denise Kerney, Deirdre Vandal and the late Maria Russell. Adored grandfather of Amber, Keith, Joe, Brandie, Jason, Jesse, and Joseph. Loving brother of Gerarda Elizondo Zabalza, Alejandro Elizondo Zabalza, Joaquina Elizondo Zabalza, and Francisco Elizondo Zabalza. He had a particularly close relationship with nephews, Joaquin and Fernando, and is survived by numerous other nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.
Pedro was born, reared and educated in the small Basque village of Orbaizeta, Spain. He emigrated to the US, and worked as a sheep herder in Nevada, later moving to Marin County and finally settling in Petaluma. He lived in Petaluma for 50 years and retired from the Petaluma School District as a custodian. Pedro had many interests, including carpentry, gardening, fishing and wood carving. He lived an adventurous life, full of love and laughter. He is greatly loved and will be sorely missed.
Friends and family are invited to attend the Memorial Liturgy, Friday, September 13, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Parent-Sorensen Mortuary & Crematory, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma. Inurnment: Calvary Cemetery, Petaluma.
