basque heritage worldwide
08/23/2017 - Elko, Nevada, USA
Maria Luisa Alberro left this world August 23, 2017 surrounded by those who loved her. She was born in Arizcun, Navarra, Spain on June 8, 1942. She moved to Elko, Nevada while still in her teens where she would meet and marry her husband of 40 years
Maria knew many people and seldom met a person she didn’t like. She babysat for many years and helped raise many children. No child that met her could ignore her beautiful smile. No parent could deny how incredible she was with their children. She ran a structured, loving, and busy house.
She is being welcomed home by her husband Pete Alberro, parents Joaquin & Maria Josefa Alberro, daughter Rosemarie Alberro Conner, and her brothers Pedro & Fermin Alberro.
She is survived by her son Peter J. Alberro, Son-in-Law James Conner, granddaughters Crystal, Cassie, Sara, and Jessica, and many great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Visitacion Alberro, Dolores Alberro Arregui, Lourdes Alberro Echeverria, Emiliana Alberro, Conchita Alberro Galarregui, and brother, Anastasio Alberro, Maria also leaves behind many, many beloved friends.
There will be a Rosary Tuesday, August 29th at 6 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will take place at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 30 with a luncheon to follow. There will also be a dinner at 6 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the Elko Basque Clubhouse to celebrate Maria’s love of her Basque heritage. The family asks that you join us in celebrating Maria’s life.
Grandma you are forever in our hearts and we will carry you and your lessons with us forever. We love you.
