Jaime (Heguy) Brown
Jaime Noel Brown died on Tuesday December 4, 2012 in Los Banos, California at home, surrounded by her family and friends after a two-year battle against a terminal tumor. She was born on January 27, 1993 and was a cheerful, active, hardworking person and euskaltzale, closely linked to the local Basque community and Los Banos Basque club, that of San Francisco as well as NABO. She was a dancer and very committed to her Basque heritage, a sentiment that was very deeply-rooted and shared with many youth like her, from many other parts of the country, through NABO activities, the federation that brings Basque American entities together, where she too was involved.
Our sincerest condolences to her parents, John and Jeanette, her sister Chelsea, her grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins and family; as well as to her Basque club friends in Los Banos and San Francisco, as well as other parts of California and the country, and Euskadi where her loss has caused a wave of emotion.
Thank you to everyone who was at her side during these last two years.
Her funeral will take place on December 10 at noon at the Saint Joseph Catholic Church of Los Banos with rosary preceding. The family requests that Jaime’s friends come dressed in Basque dance attire. Attendance is expected by members of various Basque communities throughout the states, and dancers who will pay a final tribute to their friend Jaime.
Goian Bego.
