On Saturday, October 21, 2017, Gentzane Zamakona passed away in Caracas. She was a former dantzari and dantza instructor, and member "all her whole life" of Eusko Etxea, beloved and active member of the Basque community in Venezuela, She was wife of Iñaki Aretxabaleta and sister of Mikel Zamakona.

The  funeral chapel will be on Monday, October 23 between 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. in the Cementerio del Este, Caracas.
