Gaizka Idoeta Larrea, not only  a former member of Euzko Etxea of New York, also a former Vice President and NABO delegate, passed on August 21, 2022 at the age of 54. 

Gaizka first came to Euzko Etxea of New York as a very young adult and throughout his years there as a member, he was dedicated to bringing new members while participating in practically all events and dinners. A proud basque from Lekeitio, ready to go anywhere to help everyone and anyone. A true Lekeitiarra who would always call you "txo" and greeted any new faces as if they were long lost friends. 

He leaves behind a wife and young daughter. He will truly be missed.

Goian bego, gure lagun maitagarria! As his wife put it, "Hutsune ikaragarria itxi diguzu!".

A mass will be celebrated for him at the Lekeitio Basilika Parish church on August 31, 2022 at 7:00 pm.
