It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of our beloved Ama and Amatxi, Françoise, on Friday, July 10th, 2020 in Napa, California.

Our beloved Ama and Amatxi unexpectedly became ill and passed away within a few months with her family around her.

Françoise Geneviève Sallaberry was born on December 6, 1939 in Banca, France. She married Michel Petoteguy from Ascarat, France in May 1962.

She along with her husband and children took a leap of faith and immigrated to San Francisco, California in 1972.

She worked incredibly hard and made every effort to give her children a better and easier future. She was an amazing woman, self-sacrificing, tenacious, kind and loving, one that we all looked up to and admired.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Bernadette (Espen), Maite, Jean-Pierre and Monique (Richard) and her grandchildren Erik, Ion, Nicole and Frank.

A funeral service will be held in the Basque Country at a later date.
