Estefania Larrinaga Bilbao passed away in Mundaka on May 30, 2024 at the age of 88.
After a lifetime in the United States, he had moved to the Basque Country, always with the love and care of her children.
After emigrating to Elko, Nevada, Estefanía lived most of her American life in this Nevada town, and the last few years in Boise. In Elko she and her husband Ricardo Yanci raised her three children, Stephanie, Ricardo and Miren Begoña. She was a well-known person in Elko and Boise and in their Basque communities and clubs, to which she contributed. Her husband Beñardo Yanci, who died in 2016, was a renowned accordionist, from the Lesakarra saga of that surname. Her children, American and Basque, had been dancers and later acquired responsibilities within the Basque community and their American life.
Religious services for her soul will be held in the Basque Country this Thursday, May 30, at 7:00 p.m., in the Parish of the Assumption of Mary in Mundaka. Information about funerals in the United States will be specified later.
