Esteban Lejardi, 78, born in Bolibar (Bizkaia), resident in Las Vegas, passed away after being seriously injured in a traffic accident and fighting between life and death for a day in the hospital.
He was born in Bolibar on August 18, 1942, the son of Jeronimo Lejardi and Clara Ibaibarriaga, the both of them from Bolibar.
He was brother of Andres Lejardi of Gooding, Idaho and uncle to Fernando Lejardi, of Elko, Nevada.
Esteban Lejardi had been a pilotari, Basque pilota player in La Vegas. He previously played at the frontons in Palma de Mallorca, in the Jakarta one, the Ezkurdi in Durango and at Cebu's Jai-Alai in the Philippines, In 1978 he moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, USA to play at the then MGM Jai-Alai palace.
