Clara Marie Eguilior, age 94, passed away in Pocatello on January 9, 2018 due to a brief illness.
She was born on April 27, 1923 in Pocatello to Domingo and Celestina (Landa) Eguilior. She attended St. Joseph's Elementary School and then graduated from Pocatello High School in 1941. Following high school Clara received a degree from Henniker Business School.
She lived and worked in Salt Lake City for a few years.
Clara moved back to Pocatello and began working for Idaho Power for which she served for over 30 years until retirement.
Clara was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's Church and gave generous service. For the last several years Clara volunteered at Holy Spirit Catholic School. She loved being around the children and was a child at heart. She loved traveling. She made several trips to the Basque country where her parents were born. Clara was a member of the Boise Basque Club, as well as the Basque Museum and Cultural Center.
Clara was preceded in death by her sister, Eva Landa, and brother Domingo Eguilior. She was a also preceded in death by nephews Loren Landa and Thomas D. Eguilior. She is survived by eight nieces and nephews, Martin, JoAnne, Celeste, Dan, Michael Landa, Julie, Tina, Monica Eguilior.
The Funeral Mass for Clara Marie Eguilior will be celebrated 2:00 PM on Friday, January 12, 2018 at Holy Spirit Catholic Community, St. Joseph's Chapel, 455 North Hayes in Pocatello. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Pocatello. In lieu of flowers please make donations in her memory to the Holy Spirit Catholic School, 540 North 7th Ave, Pocatello, ID 83201.
