basque heritage worldwide
05/26/2017 - Sparks, Nevada, USA
(September 8, 1973 ~ May 26, 2017)
After an extended battle with brain cancer, Christine Marie VanHoose, left this earth on May 26, 2017 with the same determination, passion and zest that characterized each of her forty-three years.
Born on September 8, 1973 to Annie and Jean Pierre Guecamburu, she spent her early childhood in the San Francisco Bay area before moving to Nevada with her parents.
After attending Douglas High School, Christine graduated from Carson High in 1991. She married her husband, Dan, in 1998 and settled in their home in Sparks, NV. A few years later their beloved son, Benat, was born.
Her warm heart and free spiritedness earned her many friends. Deeply proud of her Basque heritage, Christine loved a good game of mus, a well stirred cocktail and a perfectly fried mountain trout straight off the fishing pole. She was also a fan of big sloppy kisses, large clumsy dogs and hugs that went on just a little too long.
She was a devoted mother, wife, daughter and friend.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Pierre & Marie Dunat of Turlock, CA and Martin & Marie Guecamburu of Esterencuby, France.
She is survived by her son, Benat VanHoose; husband, Dan VanHoose; parents, Jean-Pierre and Annie Guecamburu of Carson City; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Her family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to all that supported Christine during her illness. The love and kindness will not be forgotten.
Final arrangements will be held in private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to: National Brain Tumor Society or the Nevada Humane Society, 2825-B Longley Lane, Reno, NV 89502,-Couruer)
