09/15/2023 - Bakersfield, California, USA
Our dad passed away peacefully in his home Friday morning after a brief illness.
Angel immigrated to the US from Lesaka, Navarra, Spain in the early 1960's as a sheep herder. He married Ofelia in 1967, gaining six bonus children and later adding two more to the mix. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, gardener and cook. He especially loved his large family gatherings and getting together with his Wool Growers friends. Angel was hardworking, funny and good natured. Everyone that knew him, loved him.
Angel was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Ofelia, his daughter Geneva and son-in-law Leonard.
He is survived by Becky (Michael) Morin, Dan (Olga) Villalovos, Richard (Gail) Villalovos, Mona (Richard) Vipham, Alice Lomas, Louie Ezquerro (Tammy McNeill), Angie (Mike) Newton, 13 grandkids, 9 great-grandkids and 1 great-great grandchild.
Pallbearers include his dear friend, Jose Ariztoy and grandsons, Alex Dominguez, Cory Lomas, Steven Maxwell, David Morin and Keith Villalovos.
Special thanks to Jose Ariztoy and Paulette Heguilustoy for the many years of laughter and friendship and to his nurse Trish of Hoffmann Hospice who made his last days extra special.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Kern County Basque Club or Marley's Mutts Rescue Ranch.
Recitation of the Rosary for Angel will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. with a viewing and Graveside service to follow at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 3700 River Blvd., Bakersfield.
Faltan botatzen zaitugu aita, berriro elkartzen garen arte.
