Adelfa Goiricelaya Braga, passed away at the age of 95, Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at her daughter's and son-in-law's residence in Scottsdale, Arizona with both of them by her side.
Adelfa was accomplished and talented. She was a school teacher, gifted seamstress, seeker of knowledge, and loved to travel. She was an excellent cook who celebrated her Cuban and Basque heritage with food. She made killer black beans and an extraordinary paella.
Adelfa lived a long and fulfilling life. She will be best remembered for her devotion to her husband and children, being a loyal friend, love for her adopted country, her sharp wit and sense of humor, vibrant spirit, steadfast faith, her courage, and a contagious laugh and smile that would light up a room. Her memory is a blessing.
She is pre-deceased by her husband, Pedro Alfredo Braga. She is survived by her daughter Maritza Braga Brown, and son-in-law, James. T. Brown. Her son, Alfredo J. Braga and daughter-in-law, Christina Rivera Braga. Grandchildren Christopher C. Brown, Matthew T. Brown, Calen J. Braga and Eve M. Braga.
A private service in Albuquerque has been held. Anyone wanting to make a donation in her honor can make a donation to The Fisher House Foundation.
